Creating Small Moments in Your Home

Sometimes the small spaces in your home bring all the cozy you’ve been looking for. Our home has very tall walls and since my walls are white, at times a bare space can feel…well bare. This little bistro table from World Market I used as an end table in my living room for a very long time. But then I found that trashed end table shown in the pics above and it just fit my living room so much better.

To recreate this space there are a few simple ingredients. Our wall is no more than three feet wide so its a small area and kind our in the open of our home. It is also a space you can see from the front entry. As you know, my go-to for any new space is black, white, green and wood. These are classics always combine well and feel timeless.

The black iron table base and marble top are so beautiful and perfect anchor for the entire design. I choose a wishbone wooden chair. Mine has a leather seat cover, but this rattan one feels classic as well. Art should never be a neglected piece. Having it placed above helps to define this space and keeps your eyes moving from one little area to the next. Mine is a target find from Hearth and Hand – Magnolia. These two from the mood board are from target(simple sail boat) by Studio McGee and North&Finch(sailing). The books on the table help tell the story of what this little area should be used for and brings that element of vintage that I ALWAYS love to add.

And the show stopper…If you have not had the chance to visit Coterie Brooklyn shop…this is a must! They have the most beautiful fabrics and many of their pillows come in 3 or more size options. The quality is second to none. I have purchased several over the years and they are always a place I enjoy checking when looking for texture for a space. They also have beautiful throws that bring that coxy element that can’t be duplicated by anything else.

Its the colors, the art and the details. Take your time. Look for things that you love, are a trusted quality brand and make you feel some thing. And if you don’t know how to do all that, call me. I’d love to help!
